How MK SNAP Works

MK SNAP is provided with real work by local companies. In some cases clients can gain or regain employment thanks to the care and training at MK SNAP, but every client has a productive role.

 Work as a focus for development

Simple packing, product assembly and mailshots provide stimulating challenges for clients with complex learning needs and difficulties.  Each job is assessed for the skills it offers and these are   then matched to the individuals development needs (further information about the work we do can be found under section "Getting Involved" "Working with Companies)

Self–reliance is encouraged, however, work is carried out on a team basis with clients helping and supporting each other.

The work is oriented around development of:

Empowerment through Education

Skills developed through work tasks are complimented by basic numeracy and literacy courses, plus basic IT skills.

We also work with clients to increase and improve communication, co-ordination and general life skills including:

• Kitchen skills
• Personal discipline
• Social Interaction
• Budgeting

Helping people back into working life

Training and supporting clients to work is fundamental to developing skills, confidence and self-esteem. MK SNAP's real benefits include:
